A three-year-old boy suffered severe injuries after being trampled by a horse during street races in the village of Talapker, Akmola region. The child was rushed to hospital and is now under medical supervision. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing KTK TV channel.
The incident occurred on June 5, according to relatives of the injured child and local residents. At the time, the boy was playing near his home with his eight-year-old sister when 20-year-old men organized a horse race (baiga) on the street.
The child's mother, Saltanat Ibraeva, claims her son ended up in the path of a galloping horse and sustained serious injuries.
"I don't know what the rider was thinking, maybe he wanted to jump over my child? He just crushed his internal organs. From the horse's impact, my son flipped in the air and fell. He has a concussion, a broken arm. I want the guilty to answer according to the law, this should not go unpunished," the woman said.
According to the mother, the child was diagnosed with a head injury, a broken arm, and damage to internal organs. Over several days, the boy underwent multiple surgeries. She also stated that the rider believed to be involved has not contacted the family or apologized.
Police reported that a criminal investigation has been launched into the incident.
"According to preliminary data, on June 5 of this year in the village of Talapker, a horse trampled a child born in 2022. The victim was taken to a medical facility. Necessary investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the incident," law enforcement officials said.
The alleged participant in the incident has been placed under a written undertaking not to leave the place during the investigation.
