On August 31, unfavorable meteorological conditions (NMC) are expected in four cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kazhydromet.

According to weather forecasters, NMC are predicted in Pavlodar and Aktobe, and at night in Astana and Atyrau.

Why does the air worsen?

As experts explain, unfavorable meteorological conditions arise from a combination of calm, weak wind, fog, and temperature inversion. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to a deterioration in air quality.

Health impact

Forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases. The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.

Recommendations

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Experts advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving classes indoors.
