Astana youth distributed the flag of Kazakhstan and chocolate to foreign guests at the airport in celebration of Republic Day, the capital's akimat reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On the eve of Republic Day, volunteers from the "Astana Zhastary" youth resource center organized a festive event at the capital's international airport.
Volunteers presented foreign guests arriving in Astana with the flag of Kazakhstan and chocolate, congratulating them on the national holiday.
Among the guests was Dan Russell, president of the Wrestling for Peace organization from Jordan.
He said he had previously visited Kazakhstan during the World Nomad Games and praised the country's hospitality and culture.
