In the Turkestan region, a verdict was passed on a 52-year-old resident of Arys who, while intoxicated, hit six people. Three of the victims died. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing KTK TV channel.
Bibinur Kasymova worked as a school teacher and in her free time engaged in private transportation. According to the TV channel, on the day of the tragedy, the woman got behind the wheel while intoxicated.
She lost control and ran over six people who were sitting on a bench near a house. As a result of the accident, two children and a pregnant woman died. Three more victims were hospitalized with injuries.
The court sentenced Kasymova to nine years in prison and banned her from driving vehicles for life. In addition, the convicted woman was ordered to pay 35 million tenge to the victims.
However, the woman will begin serving her sentence in a year. The execution of the sentence was postponed because she has a minor child.
Relatives of the deceased considered the sentence too lenient.
"Our family lost three people at once. Our daughter-in-law and son, and she was also pregnant. And for three people, only nine years is too little," said the victim Agaisha Manatova.
She added that the family is still grieving the loss of loved ones and is not satisfied with the court's decision.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about the details of the tragedy. After the collision, the driver fled the scene, but was later detained and placed in a temporary detention center.

Opinion of the victims
Relatives of the deceased expressed dissatisfaction with the court's verdict. In their opinion, nine years for the death of three people is too little. Agaisha Manatova said that the family lost several people at once, and her daughter-in-law was pregnant.
"We still cannot believe this tragedy. The fact that children died before our eyes is very hard. The court did not take our demands into account," she said.
Expert opinion
Lawyers commented on the specifics of this case, trying to explain the court's decision. According to them, when imposing a sentence, the identity of the defendant, her family situation, and other circumstances are taken into account.
"The court could decide to postpone the sentence for a mother with a minor child. This is provided for by law," said a lawyer.
However, there are also opinions that in this case the rights of the victims were not protected.
Conclusion
This case once again showed the danger of drunk driving. Experts believe that to prevent such situations, it is necessary to toughen punishment. And the victims do not lose hope for justice.
