Rail cars derailed at the CPKC New Orleans Yard in Metairie due to high winds. Lightning flashed behind St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square as rain fell in New Orleans. Williams and 31st Street in Kenner were flooded. In Florence, Kentucky, a snapped power pole hung over a car lot at Joseph Cadillac.

The storm also spawned tornadoes in the Midwest, causing power outages. Meteorologists warn that the storm will continue moving inland across the southern states.
