A nine-story residential building officially recognized as emergency and unfit for use was sold at an electronic auction in Arkalyk. Despite the critical condition of the building, the sole participant purchased the property at the starting price of almost 30 million tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The electronic auction featured a former 108-apartment residential building in Arkalyk with a total area of 6,655.1 square meters. The building is located on a land plot of 0.66 hectares. According to the documentation, the facility is in unsatisfactory technical condition.

The starting price of the lot was 29.848 million tenge. As a result of the auction, the building was sold to the sole participant at the initial price.

The seller was the finance department of the Arkalyk akimat. The facility is on the balance sheet of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, Passenger Transport, Highways and Housing Inspection of the city akimat.

According to a report by Total Cost Movement and Evaluation Center LLP, prepared in January 2026, the market value of the building was also 29.848 million tenge. No restrictions, arrests or other encumbrances on the property were registered. The auction took place on May 28, 2026.

According to the conclusion of independent experts, the building is recognized as emergency and classified as the fifth – maximum – category of technical condition, which excludes the possibility of its further operation.

The report notes that the foundation needs strengthening, load-bearing structures have serious damage, and part of the floor slabs in the basement and first floors have collapsed. All engineering communications – power supply, heating, water supply and sewerage – have been dismantled. In addition, there are no staircases in the building, so it is impossible to reach the upper floors without special equipment.
