A new foreign carrier is entering Kazakhstan's aviation market. From June 12 of this year, FlyOne Armenia will begin operating direct regular passenger flights to the country, reports the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Flights will be operated on the Yerevan — Almaty route. According to the approved schedule, flights are planned to be operated twice a week — on Mondays and Fridays.

"The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working to expand the geography of flights and increase the number of international flights. From June 12, a new foreign carrier from Armenia, FlyOne Armenia, is entering the air transport market of Kazakhstan," the statement said.

The launch of the new route will significantly increase the overall intensity of air traffic between the two states. Due to the entry of a new player into the market, the total number of regular flights between Kazakhstan and Armenia will grow from 3 to 5 per week.

The ministry emphasized that the opening of additional direct air service is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. The emergence of new flights is expected to contribute to the further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia.

FlyOne Armenia is a subsidiary of the Moldovan holding FlyOne, positioning itself as a classic low-cost carrier (low-cost airline). In the domestic market, the company is one of the industry leaders and is among the top 100 largest taxpayers in Armenia. The carrier's pricing policy is focused on dumping: ticket prices for basic routes traditionally start from 39–44 euros, making the company a key player in the budget travel segment.
