Armenia leads in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in terms of average per capita loan volume. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This was established according to data from the Eurasian Economic Commission for 2025.

Russia leads in absolute terms

Russia leads in absolute terms: the debt of Russians amounted to 460.59 billion dollars. Despite the fact that Russia's population makes up about 80% of the Union's population, almost all loans are denominated in rubles.

Armenia leads in debt burden

In terms of debt burden, that is, the share of personal debt in GDP, Armenia leads with an indicator of 32.9%.

In Russia and Kazakhstan this indicator is significantly lower – about 16%, while in Kyrgyzstan it is only 8.8%.

Belarus leads in mortgage share

However, Belarus surpassed everyone in the share of mortgages: about 60% of all loans are intended for home purchases.

In Russia this indicator is 58%, while in Kazakhstan real estate accounts for only 28%.
