44.9 million vehicles passed on Kazakhstan's toll roads in seven months

In the first seven months of 2026, about 45 million vehicle passages were recorded on Kazakhstan's republican toll roads. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to KazAvtoZhol JSC, from January 1 to July 31, 2026, a total of 44,954,050 vehicle passages were registered on toll roads. This figure shows a significant increase compared to previous years.

Busiest routes

The Almaty – Konayev section leads in traffic intensity. Over seven months, 7,149,537 vehicles passed along this route, accounting for approximately 16% of the total. On average, about 33,700 vehicles passed per day.

The second place is occupied by the Shymkent – Uzbekistan border route with 5,463,475 vehicles, and the third by the Shymkent – Taraz section with 3,784,782 vehicles. The top five also includes the Taraz – Kainar (3,289,935) and Shymkent – Kyzylorda (2,736,666) routes.

High activity in southern regions

Overall statistics show that the highest traffic intensity is observed in the Almaty agglomeration and the southern regions of the country. On just four southern routes – Shymkent – Uzbekistan border, Shymkent – Taraz, Taraz – Kainar, and Shymkent – Kyzylorda – more than 15.2 million vehicles passed.

Capital routes

Routes connecting the capital with regions also show high traffic. On the Astana – Temirtau section, 2,293,893 passages were recorded, on the Astana – Shchuchinsk route – 2,219,653, and on the Astana – Pavlodar road – 1,401,004 vehicles.

Activity in other regions

In the northern regions, besides the capital routes, high traffic intensity is observed on the Kostanay – Denisovka, Shchuchinsk – Kokshetau, and Kokshetau – Petropavlovsk roads. In the Pavlodar region, the Astana – Pavlodar, Pavlodar – Semey – Kalbatau, and Pavlodar – RF border routes are actively used.

In the western regions, the Aktobe – RF border, Kandyagash – Makat, Uralsk – RF border (towards Samara and Saratov), and Beyneu – Akzhigit roads are in high demand. In the eastern and southeastern directions, significant traffic is recorded on the Almaty – Korgas, Konayev – Taldykorgan, and Usharal – Dostyk highways.

"The rating shows that the toll road network covers the main transport routes in almost all regions of the country. These include international corridors in the south and east, as well as routes connecting the northern and western regions with the Russian Federation," experts say.
