37-year-old Aktobe resident Gulzhanat Kulmurzina said that after treatment at a private dental clinic she lost several teeth, suffered nerve damage and can no longer undergo IVF. An inspection revealed violations in the clinic's work. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the woman, before the IVF procedure she decided to get her teeth fixed. However, during treatment and tooth extraction, the patient claims, she suffered a chemical burn and was admitted to a multidisciplinary hospital.
Kulmurzina said the consequences persist to this day: her nerves are damaged, several teeth are missing and her face is distorted. She now faces several operations.
After the patient's complaint, an inspection was carried out at the clinic. It turned out that the assistance was provided by a dentist with a secondary medical education, although treatment at this level required a higher medical education.
"In this case, dental care was provided to the patient by a specialist who has a professional education – a secondary medical education. Qualification – dentist. And according to the standard, at the secondary level it must be provided by a specialist with a higher medical education," said Nurlygul Bisenova, head of the department of the regional department of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control.
According to the TV channel, the dentist was fined, and the clinic was ordered to suspend him from work.
Kulmurzina also filed a lawsuit. According to her, representatives of the defendants did not come to the conciliation procedure and did not apologize.
"Today we had a conciliation. They did not come to the conciliation, no one wanted to come. They didn't even apologize. I was planning a pregnancy through IVF in the future. I won't be able to go for IVF now. I won't be able to have children," said Gulzhanat Kulmurzina.
At the same time, the report does not provide a medical conclusion confirming the impossibility of undergoing IVF or having children.
