A pre-trial investigation has been launched in Aktobe into a case of fraud under the guise of providing tourism services. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the investigation, the suspect posted advertisements on social networks about organizing tourist trips abroad. Convincing citizens that he could provide tourism services, he received money as payment for booking tours, airline tickets, and hotel accommodations.

However, despite receiving the funds, he did not fulfill his obligations. The citizens' money was used for the suspect's personal purposes. As a result of the illegal actions, the victims suffered significant material damage.

A pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code (fraud), the statement said. The prosecutor's office urges citizens to be cautious when purchasing tourism services through social networks.
