An exhibition dedicated to the National Dombyra Day has opened at the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The exhibition 'Dombyra and Era' features dombras that belonged to famous kyuishi Baltursyn Sarybayeva, Aisa Sharipov, Bakyt Basygarayev, Momyn Baiganin, People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, singer and composer Dimash Kudaibergen, poet Bakir Tazhibayev, Lieutenant General Zhansen Kereyev, cultural figure Yerkin Kurmanbek, and other prominent personalities.
The exhibition is organized for the National Dombyra Day and aims to promote the history and cultural significance of the traditional Kazakh musical instrument. Among the exhibits are dombras touched by famous people from different eras, each with its own story.
According to museum staff, many of the displayed dombras have not been shown to the public before. During the opening, the role of the dombra in raising national spirit was highlighted.
The exhibition will run for a month, with free admission for all residents and guests of the city.
