Seven people have been detained in Aktobe on suspicion of involvement in extortion and robbery. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the regional police department, the suspects were from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. On June 17, under the pretext of repaying a fabricated debt, the suspects used force against the victim, forcing him to take out a loan and withdraw money from his deposit account. Thus, they illegally obtained 700,000 tenge, causing significant material damage to the victim.

As a result of operational search activities, police officers identified and detained seven suspects. All were taken to internal affairs bodies. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway on the fact of extortion. The involvement of the detainees in other similar crimes committed in the Aktobe region is also being checked.
