A man who stabbed a woman to death at a wedding hall in Aktobe has been detained. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to information circulating online, the 26-year-old woman had come to the wedding hall with her new partner. There, her former partner stabbed her multiple times during a conflict. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.
According to official data, the deceased and the suspect were not legally married but lived together.
The regional police reported that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of murder.
“A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the murder of a woman. During operational-search measures, police officers promptly identified and detained the suspect. He is currently being held in a temporary detention facility,” police said.
Investigators have now begun establishing the circumstances of the incident.
