A man has been arrested in Aktobe on suspicion of defrauding disabled people. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional police department, the suspect gained the trust of citizens and under various pretexts took their money.
In one case, he promised a 51-year-old woman to help change her child's disability group from III to II, receiving 400,000 tenge from her.
In another case, the suspect promised a 27-year-old resident raising a disabled child to help move up the housing queue and obtain an apartment. For this service, he took 1 million tenge from the victim, did not fulfill the promise, and spent the money on personal needs.
Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway into these facts.
