A 26-year-old woman was strangled in her own apartment in Aktobe. Her 31-year-old ex-husband has been detained on suspicion of murder. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The tragedy occurred in the Yeset Batyr residential area on the outskirts of the city. The woman lived in the apartment with her child. According to neighbors, they hardly ever saw the ex-husband there.
Relatives of the deceased claim that the man had threatened her and used force before. As Zhanar Kozhanova said, it was precisely because of the beatings that the woman decided to divorce.
"He beat her even during the marriage, that's why she divorced. She didn't tell us much. And yesterday my sister left work and picked up her daughter from kindergarten. As far as I know, he followed her all the way to the apartment and strangled her there. What their little daughter was doing at that time, I don't know yet," said the relative of the deceased.
Police reported that the suspect has been detained. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the murder occurred during a domestic conflict between the former spouses.
"It has been preliminarily established that the crime was committed on the grounds of a domestic conflict between the former spouses. It should be noted that previously no statements, appeals, or signals about domestic conflicts had been received by the police," said Aset Kaliyev, deputy head of the Aktobe Region Police Department.
This is already the second murder of a woman in Aktobe in a week. On November 3, another 26-year-old woman died from knife wounds at the Wedding Palace. Her former cohabitant was detained on suspicion of the crime.
