A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in Aktobe on suspicion of extorting a man. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional police department, officers from the organized crime unit detained a resident of Aktobe on suspicion of extortion. The suspect was caught red-handed while receiving 100,000 tenge.
The victim told police that he met the woman on the social network TikTok. After a meeting, they had an intimate relationship. Some time later, the woman demanded money, threatening to file a false rape report with law enforcement.
Frightened, the victim gave her the money. Later, the suspect demanded another 100,000 tenge. Police arrested her while she was receiving the money. A pre-trial investigation is underway on charges of extortion.
