A woman suspected of fraud in real estate transactions has been detained in Aktobe. According to the investigation, at least two residents of Kosshy suffered from her actions, with total damage amounting to 22 million tenge. According to the investigation, the woman, under the pretext of buying apartments, received 14 million and 8 million tenge from citizens, after which she disappeared. In July, she was put on the wanted list.
"During operational search activities, police established that the suspect was in Aktobe. With the assistance of local colleagues, she was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility," the press service of the Akmola region police department reported.
After her detention, it turned out that the woman worked as a teacher at one of the schools in Aktobe. Currently, law enforcement officers are checking the circumstances of her employment and the authenticity of the documents she provided upon hiring.
The investigation is also considering the possibility of using fake documents and certificates.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan warned about fraud using artificial intelligence. Attackers can fake the voice and appearance of relatives or acquaintances to convince a person to urgently transfer money. The police advise to double-check such requests, call loved ones yourself, and not share bank card details, SMS codes, and passwords.
