In Kazakhstan, 379 people have been poisoned since the beginning of the year. This was announced by the chairman of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health, Sarkhat Beisenova, at the central communications service. According to him, one of the most pressing issues today is food poisoning. In the first half of the year, 379 people were poisoned in Kazakhstan, including 141 children, which is 71 more than last year.

"Lack of permits, work of people who have not undergone medical examination, improper storage of food products and non-compliance with food preparation technology. Six of them are under pre-trial investigation, two cases have been sent to court. More than 94 kg of food products considered dangerous have been seized," Beisenova said.

The activities of six facilities have been suspended. There are more than 20,000 public catering facilities, and 600 inspections have been carried out. Fines of 50 million tenge have been imposed on those who violated sanitary requirements.

In the Aktobe region, the investigation into the mass poisoning is still ongoing. "In the Aktobe region, a total of 188 people were poisoned, they are still receiving treatment. The restaurant operated without permits, improperly stored food. The employees did not undergo medical examination," the committee chairman said.
