The Zhaisan automobile checkpoint on the border between Aktobe and Orenburg regions will be expanded to eight lanes. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, currently the checkpoint operates with two lanes. After modernization, the number of lanes will be increased to eight, which will significantly reduce vehicle passage time.

The project is being implemented by the national company KazAvtoZhol. Construction work is planned to start in 2026 and finish in 2027. The renovation includes building new lanes and installing modern control and passage systems.

The Zhaisan checkpoint is an important logistics hub between Kazakhstan and Russia. It handles freight and passenger transportation. The expansion is expected to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.

This initiative is part of a state program to enhance Kazakhstan's transit potential. The modernization of the checkpoint will simplify border crossing procedures and improve the efficiency of customs control.
