On July 26, traffic on the Aktobe-Uralsk-Russia border international highway (Syrym checkpoint) will be temporarily stopped. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The restriction will be in effect from 05:00 to 11:00 at the 247th km of the KAZ10 highway. It is related to the restoration of the bridge over the Shagan River. During the repair, traffic will be completely closed for all types of vehicles.

The national operator recommends that drivers adjust their route in advance and take the restrictions into account when planning trips, especially those heading towards Uralsk or the Russian Syrym checkpoint.

The KAZ10 highway is one of the key international corridors of Western Kazakhstan and provides transport links with Russia, so even a short-term closure may lead to traffic congestion.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that a bridge collapsed in the BAKAD area in Almaty region.
