An incident at a kindergarten in the Aktobe region is under investigation: a nanny is suspected of deliberately scratching the face of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy during quiet time. The employee has been suspended from work. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred at a kindergarten in the village of Begimbet, Shalkar district. A local activist provided the video recording to the television channel.
The boy's parents are so far refraining from public comments. However, in a telephone conversation with journalists, they suggested that the child could have become a victim of a conflict between the institution's employees. According to the relatives' version, the nanny could have scratched the child in order to frame the teacher.
Initially, the family was allegedly told that the boy had scratched himself. After viewing the surveillance camera footage, the relatives developed a different version of what happened. The circumstances of the incident are now being investigated by the police.
The head of the Shalkar district education department, Ayanbergen Bashanov, said that a special commission had been created and an inspection had begun.
"A special commission has been created, an inspection is underway. A criminal case has been opened, and a forensic medical examination has been ordered. The employee involved in the incident has worked at this institution since 2009. She is currently suspended from work," Bashanov said.
