Strong gusty winds in the Baiganin district of the Aktobe region caused a metal communication tower to collapse onto a detached one-story store building. Three people were injured as a result of the incident. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional akimat, all victims received necessary medical care from doctors at the district hospital. After the incident, employees of the Emergency Situations Department of the Aktobe region promptly carried out emergency rescue operations.
In addition, the bad weather damaged several other facilities. Currently, specialists are assessing the damage, and emergency crews are restoring power supply and mobile communications in the district center.
"Based on the results of the inspection, a decision will be made to declare a local emergency. All involved services are operating in an enhanced mode. The local executive body will take all necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of the incident and provide necessary assistance to affected residents," the Aktobe region akimat reported.
By order of the akim of the Aktobe region, Askhat Shakharov, an emergency commission was created under the leadership of Deputy Akim of the region Galymzhan Yeleuov to coordinate the work.
The authorities urged residents to remain calm, trust only official sources of information, and understand the ongoing emergency restoration work.
