The first snow fell in the Aktobe region on October 4. Residents of Khromtau and the Akzhar residential area are posting videos of snow-covered streets on social media. At night, air temperatures in some places dropped to zero. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In Aktobe, according to city residents, rain has been turning to wet snow since yesterday. Precipitation continues on October 4 as well.

Due to the worsening weather, police urged drivers to be careful on the roads and to take into account possible slippery surfaces.

The day before, Kazhydromet warned of a cold snap, rain and wet snow in the region. According to the forecast, in Aktobe at night temperatures were expected from 0 to 2 degrees Celsius, during the day — from 3 to 5 degrees. Wind gusts could reach 12 meters per second.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that snow would also come to other regions of Kazakhstan. Kazhydromet forecasts rain with snow, low blizzard and ice in the north of the country, and heavy rains in the south and east. In the area of Alakol lakes, wind gusts can reach 30 meters per second and more.

According to weather forecasters, on October 4 snow is also possible in Astana, Uralsk, Kokshetau, Kostanay and Petropavlovsk.
