A new wind power plant with a capacity of 100 MW will be built in the Aktobe region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Akim of the region Askhat Shakharov met with Federico Pugliese, General Director of Plenitude Kazakhstan LLP, to discuss the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of the company's social initiatives in the region.

In May 2026, the company won the right to build a 100 MW wind power plant following an auction organized by the Ministry of Energy. "After the facility is put into operation, it will generate approximately 400 GWh of electricity per year. After the final investment decision is made, the project is planned to be implemented in 2026–2028," the statement said.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in jointly implementing new initiatives aimed at developing the energy sector, attracting investments, and increasing the investment attractiveness of the Aktobe region, as well as strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

In total, at the end of 2025, trade turnover between the Aktobe region and Italy amounted to USD 182.8 million. Exports amounted to USD 165.1 million, while imports totaled USD 17.7 million.
