Workers at the Aktobe ferroalloy plant have expressed discontent to management over wages. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the workers, although the volume of work has increased recently, wages have not changed for three years. They also complained about low pay during labor leave and difficulties in taking vacation.
Company management met with the workers and discussed the enterprise's current issues and development prospects. "The company continues to implement production projects, modernize equipment and develop its raw material base. This will increase production efficiency, ensure stable operation of enterprises, long-term development and preserve jobs," Kazchrome reported.
Company management stated that all proposals and requests from workers have been accepted for consideration. At Kazchrome, wages are revised annually starting from January 1. According to the company, since 2022 the average salary of enterprise employees has increased by 79%. The issue of further wage increases will be considered taking into account the company's current situation and capabilities.
It is worth noting that the transnational company Kazchrome is one of the world's largest producers of ferroalloys and chrome raw materials. The company is part of Eurasian Resources Group (ERG). This year Kazchrome received a silver medal based on the EcoVadis assessment. The company scored 75 points out of 100, joining the ranks of enterprises with high results.
