Continuous rain in Aktau flooded city streets. Utility specialists and special equipment pumped out rainwater that obstructed traffic in several areas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
About 20 units of special equipment and about 50 workers were involved in the water pumping efforts. "As a result of work carried out during day and night shifts, a total of about 10,000 cubic meters of rainwater was pumped out from the city area," the city akimat said.
The situation in the city is currently under the control of responsible specialists. According to emergency services, heavy rain is also expected in the region today. Wind gusts may reach 15–20 m/s. Residents are advised to take precautions and avoid long-distance travel unless absolutely necessary.
