A doctor in Aktau has been ordered to pay 3 million tenge in compensation for moral harm to a woman who suffered after undergoing poor-quality plastic surgery. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In June 2022, the woman underwent plastic surgery to alter the shape of her face. However, after the surgical intervention, keloid scars formed in the area of her ear and face, and soft tissues were damaged. As a result, her appearance deteriorated.
«Despite initial treatment, the plaintiff's health did not improve. After her condition worsened, she was forced to seek help from other specialists. In 2025, the woman underwent a repeat corrective surgery in Almaty. However, the facial nerve was damaged, and soft tissues were deformed», the court reported.
The woman sought to recover 20 million tenge in material damages and 10 million tenge in moral damages from the doctor due to the poor-quality medical service.
«The court refused to satisfy the claim for material damages because the plaintiff did not provide documentary evidence of all expenses for subsequent treatment. The court partially satisfied the claim and recovered 3 million tenge in moral damages from the defendant», the court statement said.
The court decision has entered into legal force.
