In Aktau, a boat crashed into a rock, killing two people and injuring five. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragic incident occurred on the evening of August 30. A boat carrying seven people collided with a rock.
According to the Emergency Situations Department, a report of the incident was received at 22:56.
"During the rescue operation, five people were brought to shore and handed over to doctors. According to preliminary information, two other people on the boat were not wearing life jackets. During search and rescue operations at a distance of about 500 meters from the shore, rescuers found and pulled the bodies of two people out of the water," the department said.
Three of the five hospitalized patients are in intensive care.
"Four victims suffered various injuries. Currently, all of them have been hospitalized. Three patients born in 1988, 2002, and 1964 have been placed in the general intensive care unit and are receiving appropriate treatment," the Mangistau Regional Health Department said.
According to specialists, the condition of a patient born in 1985 is stable. He is currently undergoing treatment in the trauma department.
Another patient born in 1996 was sent for outpatient treatment after receiving the necessary medical care.
The police have opened a criminal case, and an investigation is underway.
