In Aktau, a woman tried to avoid arrest for drunk driving with the help of a fake pregnancy certificate. The court initially released her from arrest, but after a prosecutor's check the decision was revised. The offender was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Circumstances of the case

The woman was detained for driving a car while intoxicated. During the consideration of the case, she provided the court with a medical certificate of pregnancy.

Based on the document, the court released her from administrative arrest, depriving her of a driver's license for seven years. However, the Aktau prosecutor's office established that the certificate was fake.

Prosecutor's intervention

"The Mangystau Regional Court, following a prosecutor's protest, changed the ruling of the court of first instance and imposed a punishment in the form of arrest for 15 days," the prosecutor's office reported.

Thus, the initial decision was overturned, and a stricter punishment was applied to the woman.

Criminal case initiated

Now the woman and the medical worker will face proceedings within the framework of a criminal case. A case has been initiated under Article 385 of the Criminal Code on the facts of forging a medical document and its use.

This article provides for liability for the forgery and use of medical documents.

Prosecutor's warning

The prosecutor's office called on citizens to comply with the law and reminded of liability for driving while intoxicated.

This case demonstrates that violating road safety rules leads to serious consequences, and an attempt to use fake documents does not exempt one from liability before the law.
