In West Kazakhstan, police officers discovered 33.5 kg of marijuana hidden in a parcel. During operational search activities, a man suspected of involvement in illegal drug trafficking was detained. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Police tracked down a 41-year-old citizen and established that he had organized a drug supply channel from the Zhambyl region to the western regions of Kazakhstan. Delivery services were used to transport the prohibited cargo, with drugs disguised as ordinary parcels.

The suspect was caught red-handed in Aktau while receiving the parcel. During inspection, police found two bags containing a plant-based substance. Forensic analysis confirmed that the seized substance was dried marijuana.

The total weight of the seized drug exceeded 33.5 kg. According to the investigation, this batch of drugs was intended for further distribution in the western regions of the country. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this fact.
