In the Mangystau region, a verdict was delivered in the case of the death of 52-year-old Aslan Kydyrbayev, a father of five children. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Three men stood trial on charges of murder (Article 99 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan). According to Lada.kz, one of the defendants was sentenced to eight years in prison. The other two received three years suspended and were released from the courtroom.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
Circumstances of the tragedy
The tragedy occurred on December 2, 2025. Four men went on a night hunt in the Temir-baba area of the Karakiyan district. After a shot, Aslan Kydyrbayev died.
The police initially reported an accident due to careless handling of a weapon. However, relatives of the deceased disagreed with this version. According to them, the men transported the body in the back of a pickup truck for about nine hours and did not seek help.
The family claims that instead of the hospital in Zhanaozen, located about 100 kilometers from the scene, Aslan was taken to Aktau, about 300 kilometers away. Relatives also do not believe the version that the weapon allegedly sank in the water.
Court proceedings
The state prosecution asked for 17 years in prison for the main defendant and 15 years each for the other two.
"We disagree, we are against this verdict! How could they be released right from the courtroom? This is absolutely unfair," said the widow, Zhanar Yespayeva.
The family intends to appeal the decision and conduct a repeated independent examination. Aslan Kydyrbayev left behind five children.
The day before, in Aktobe, a trial ended for a teenager accused of killing his mother and attacking his grandmother. As a result, the defendant was found mentally ill and sent for compulsory treatment, released from criminal liability.
