A new boiler house serving six microdistricts is planned to be built in Aktau for 48 billion tenge to eliminate the heat capacity shortage. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This became known during a working trip by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev to the Mangystau region. The vice-premier inspected heat, water and electricity supply facilities in the region and reviewed efforts to modernize communal infrastructure. The new boiler house is aimed at meeting Aktau's growing heat demand.

Currently, the heat capacity shortage in the city reaches 130 Gcal per hour. The wear of heating networks is 65%. The condition of communal infrastructure in Aktau is also difficult.

According to the "Kaspiy Zhylu, Su Arnasy" enterprise, the wear level of heating networks is 65%. At the same time, the wear of water supply networks is 58%, and sewerage networks — 69%.

"In this regard, within the national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors", the renewal of more than 41 km of heating networks in microdistricts 4 and 5 of Aktau is envisaged," the government's press service said in a statement. The project cost is about 21.8 billion tenge. Construction and installation work is planned to be completed in 2027.

In addition, a digital dispatching system is being introduced that will monitor the operation of engineering networks through 63 control points.

Another pressing issue in the region is the decline in the Caspian Sea level. This poses a threat to the stable operation of the Mangystau Atomic Energy Combine (MAEK). In this regard, the water intake channels of CHPP-1 and CHPP-2 are being deepened and extended. The goal of the projects is to ensure uninterrupted supply of seawater for the combine's production needs.

Kanat Bozumbayev also inspected the operation of the "Kaspiy" desalination plant. As a result of expansion work carried out in 2025, the plant's production capacity has been increased to 40 thousand cubic meters per day. The plant supplies drinking water to the upper microdistricts of Aktau, as well as settlements in the Munaily and Karakiya districts.

During the working trip, the issue of modernizing electricity supply infrastructure was also considered. "Mangystau Regional Electric Grid Company" JSC has allocated 63.5 billion tenge for the renewal of power grids in 2012–2026. During this period, 60 substations were modernized and five new ones were built. Also, 273 km of power transmission lines were laid. Within the national project, two more projects for the renewal of power grids have been agreed.
