A decision has been made not to hold festive events dedicated to Aktau's city day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Due to the tragic incident in the Caspian Sea, festive concerts scheduled for 25-27 September at the "Amphitheatre" square in Aktau will not take place.
"In particular, the grand opening of the "Caspian – Sea of Friendship" festival scheduled for 25 September, as well as the closing ceremony of the festival-competition and the festive gala concert dedicated to the birthday of the city of Aktau, which were to be held on 27 September, will not take place," the official statement says.
It should be noted that in the Mangystau region, 17 servicemen were swept away by a wave during military exercises.
Three servicemen were rescued, one of whom was hospitalised.
Search operations for the remaining two servicemen are ongoing. The search operation in the Caspian Sea continues.
