The United States has not included missiles for Patriot air defense systems in a military aid package for Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Reuters, citing sources familiar with the information, reports that Washington did not include Patriot missiles in the military aid package despite Kyiv's request for additional deliveries.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that at UN meetings, European leaders would try to persuade US President Donald Trump to supply Kyiv with additional missiles for Patriot systems.
"Patriot missiles were not included in the list of military equipment... The conflict in Iran and the crisis in Ukraine have depleted global stocks of Patriot missiles, while Kyiv persistently requests additional air defense missile deliveries," the report says.
According to sources, the Trump administration plans to use $400 million allocated by Congress for military assistance to Ukraine. However, despite the shortage of air defense missiles in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, missiles for Patriot systems were not included in the list.
