Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said on social media X that the conflict in Ukraine is nearing its end. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"It looks like the war between Russia and Ukraine is entering its final stage," Davis wrote.

According to the expert, recent statements by the US president about the need for a new president in Ukraine, as well as the agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies, show that the White House head is ready to abandon support for Ukraine.

"Trump now seems ready to exit this war in an illogical way, and the troop withdrawal process could go badly. However, ending the war this way is better than continuing it," Davis concluded.

On Saturday, the US president told reporters that Zelensky had many opportunities to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but failed to use them. For this reason, in his opinion, Ukraine needs a new leader. Later, he called for elections to be held in Ukraine.

Earlier, an agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies was concluded, and this step was criticized in Kyiv.
