The US State Department plans to purchase 150 guns for mobile strike teams to intercept drones and other aerial targets for Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

These are M2 heavy machine guns with rapid-targeting optical sights. According to documents reviewed by the publication, the kit includes mounts for installation on pickup trucks and other vehicles, as well as ammunition containers.

The supplier must deliver the first 30 kits within 30 days of signing the contract. The remaining guns are planned to be delivered in three more batches over the next three months.

The announcement is for informational purposes only and is not an official tender. Russia believes that arms deliveries to Ukraine hinder conflict resolution and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any shipment of weapons for Ukraine will be a legitimate target for Russia.
