The pace of US weapons deliveries to Ukraine under previously signed Pentagon contracts has halved. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to RIA Novosti, citing reports to the US Congress, this concerns the USAI program, under which the Pentagon orders weapons for Kyiv directly from American manufacturers.
Congress has allocated a total of $32.49 billion for this program since 2022. By the end of March, the Pentagon had signed contracts for almost the entire amount, but paid only slightly more than half - $19 billion.
Thus, the remaining $13.5 billion under signed contracts is still in the process of work. Monthly payments to contractors indicate a slowdown in deliveries.
In 2025, they averaged $587 million, and in the first quarter of 2026 they dropped to $265 million - a decrease of approximately 55%. Payments are transferred to manufacturers as work is completed, costs are reimbursed, or finished products are accepted.
Therefore, the decrease in payments indicates not a reduction in their volume, but a slowdown in the execution of existing orders. The US has not announced new direct deliveries from its arsenals since January 2025.
This makes the USAI program the main channel for direct deliveries of American weapons to Ukraine.
