The body of Asset Kuralbai, a Kazakhstani who went missing in the United States, has been delivered to Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed the information. The 24-year-old Kuralbai lived in the Chicago suburb of Ford Heights, Illinois. He stopped contacting his relatives on June 2, 2026. Starting June 7, his mobile phone became completely unavailable.

The disappearance had signs of suddenness: all his personal documents and bank cards remained untouched in the house where the Kazakhstani lived. During search operations on June 10, local police officers managed to find his car, but Kuralbai himself was not in or near the vehicle. Earlier, relatives and compatriots actively circulated missing person notices on social media.

On June 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan received a notification from US authorities about the discovery of a body that, according to preliminary data, belonged to a citizen of Kazakhstan. On June 16, the Ministry officially confirmed that the body found in the US belonged to the previously missing citizen of Kazakhstan.

The cause of death is currently being investigated. The Ministry expressed condolences to the family and promised to provide necessary consular assistance. US law enforcement agencies continue the investigation.
