A Kazakh citizen who violated immigration law has been detained in the United States. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the woman was detained in the state of Florida.
"The Kazakh citizen was detained by US immigration officers due to the lack of lawful immigration status in the United States," the ministry said.
Kazakh diplomats have established contact with US government agencies and the family of the detained citizen to provide the necessary consular assistance, the ministry said.
Earlier, it was reported that a Kazakh citizen was detained in the US on suspicion of involvement in terrorism.
