US Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna proposed using funds allocated to Ukraine to finance US President Donald Trump's initiative to pay Americans $5,000. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On the first day of the Republican Party convention held in Dallas, Trump promised that if the party gains control of both chambers of Congress, every adult US citizen would receive a $5,000 payment.
"We can easily reconsider part of the aid sent abroad — perhaps part of the funds directed to Ukraine — and give it to the American people," Luna said on Fox News, commenting on Trump's idea.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov had previously stated that in order to ensure a speedy resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, the US must stop all assistance provided to the Kyiv regime.
It is worth noting that over four years since the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, Ukraine has received about $200 billion in external financing.
