Experts from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have completed an assessment of flight safety in Kazakhstan. It is necessary for launching direct flights with the United States. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The American side presented preliminary results and noted Kazakhstan's work in the field of flight safety, according to the Jol Ortalygy Telegram channel. The inspection took place from September 21 to 25 and covered aviation legislation, pilot training, and the condition of aircraft.
Additional measures are likely to be needed: the FAA will now hold final consultations, and at this stage the parties will agree on what needs to be adjusted.
In addition, another stage of preparation for flights to the United States was training at Astana airport. Representatives of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) conducted courses for airport staff on methods of auditing and inspecting aviation cargo.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Air Astana plans to launch direct flights to New York. For this purpose, on September 24, specialists from the United States made a technical visit to the airline: they checked the transparency of the carrier's processes.
