The administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing to impose sweeping sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) that could significantly restrict its work. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"The Trump administration is preparing to impose sweeping sanctions against the International Criminal Court. This signals that Washington has sharply intensified its efforts aimed at shutting down the organization after the arrest warrant was issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," the publication's report says.
According to the publication, the new restrictions would ban most transactions with the ICC after a transition period, that is, within six to seven months.
In particular, the court could lose the ability to conduct transactions in US dollars. This would significantly limit its access to the global financial system.
