US President Donald Trump ordered new strikes on Iran, and the US military has begun executing them, according to a statement by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on social media platform X. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Today at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (02:00 Astana time), U.S. Central Command began conducting new strikes to further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz," the command's statement said.

The order to strike was given by US President Donald Trump. According to Iranian media, explosions occurred in the southern cities of Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Jask; in the southwestern cities of Ahvaz and Mahshahr; in the western city of Khondab; as well as on Qeshm Island, and in the provinces of Bushehr, Sistan, and Baluchestan.

Press TV reported that one person was killed and several injured in strikes on Khuzestan province. On Sunday night, Iran announced it would close the Strait of Hormuz until the US stops its interference in the region.

Subsequently, forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) opened fire on two commercial vessels that violated the passage order through the sea corridor. In response, the US military began striking targets on Iranian territory.

Media reported explosions in the cities of Assaluyeh, Konarak, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Chabahar, as well as on Qeshm Island. Additionally, strikes were reported on the Al Udeid US air base in Qatar, logistics centers and refueling platforms for aircraft carriers at the port of Duqm in Oman, and communication hubs and radar stations in Bahrain.

Furthermore, Tehran claimed the destruction of a command center and hangars for MQ drones at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, Reuters reports. On the night of July 8, the US military resumed strikes on Iran despite a memorandum aimed at ending the conflict.

According to official data, the reason was Tehran's actions against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran is striking US military infrastructure in the Middle East.
