The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported that it conducted an aerial survey of moraine lakes in the basins of the Aksai, Kargaly, Kishi Almaty, and Ulken Almaty rivers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
It turned out that all moraine lakes have completely freed themselves from ice and are at the stage of seasonal filling.
"Natural flow is ensured, the water level in potentially dangerous lakes is significantly below maximum levels. No signs of mudflow activity have been detected, the hydrological situation remains stable," the ministry noted.
At the same time, the emergency mechanized brigade of the State Institution "Kazselzashchita" completed emergency restoration work in the Aksai River basin, restoring damaged sections of roads, strengthening the coastline, and ensuring safe access to hydraulic structures.
To strengthen control over the hydrological situation, additional mobile observation posts have been deployed on the mountain rivers of Almaty and the Almaty region. Monitoring of the condition of moraine lakes, glaciers, and riverbeds continues around the clock.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Emergency Situations returned the water flow to the Aksai River bed in the Almaty region.
In the Karasai district, residents of nine private houses were evacuated in advance to ensure safety. A total of 11 people, including one child, were evacuated. There were no casualties. The dangerous area is under control, and explanatory conversations were held with residents.
In the Enbekshikazakh district, bank strengthening work, clearing of the damaged road section, and restoration of transport links continue. Earlier, Ministry of Emergency Situations employees evacuated 42 people, including five children and eight foreign citizens. There were no casualties.
