The renovation of Zhaksy railway station in Akmola region has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Zhaksy is a class II station built in 1960. Eight passenger trains pass through the station, connecting Astana, Almaty, Kostanay, Arkalyk, Semey, Pavlodar and Mangystau.
During the reconstruction, the building area was increased from 203 to 221.8 square meters. "The roof, facade and interior premises have been completely renovated, engineering networks of water supply, sewerage, heat supply, electricity supply and low-current systems have been replaced. New furniture and equipment have been installed, the adjacent territory has been landscaped, and the platform has been updated. Modern durable building materials of domestic production were used for finishing," the statement said.
For the convenience of passengers with disabilities, an external lift was installed to ensure unhindered access to the station building. The renovation was carried out at the expense of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy".
