In Akmola region's Tselinograd district, a patient recovered 1,614,000 tenge from a clinic through court. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The patient's complaint was reviewed by the civil cases judicial panel of the Akmola regional court. In July last year, a resident applied to the district clinic complaining of headache, cough, nasal congestion, fever, and shoulder pain.

He was diagnosed with acute respiratory viral infection, acute nasopharyngitis, chronic bronchitis in exacerbation stage, and polysegmental pneumonia. A few days later, the patient again complained of pain in his hands and shoulder joints, and swelling.

The doctor diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis and recommended consulting a traumatologist. The traumatologist diagnosed a sprain of the shoulder joint ligaments and excessive strain. Doctor E. repeated the traumatologist's diagnosis, the court said.

However, a week later, the patient's condition deteriorated sharply, and he was hospitalized in a hospital in Astana. Astana doctors performed an emergency operation and removed 1.5 liters of pus from the patient's body.

The court found that due to the negligence of clinic doctors, significant harm was caused to the patient's health. By the decision of the first-instance court, the claim was partially satisfied. The clinic was ordered to pay 700 thousand tenge in compensation for moral damage. Also, 914 thousand tenge was recovered for lost income due to prolonged sick leave, the Akmola regional court reported.

Thus, the clinic was obliged to pay the patient a total of 1,614,000 tenge.
