In the Akmola region, two daughters of one family drowned with their car. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragic accident occurred in one of the flooded quarries in the Tselinograd district of the Akmola region. According to preliminary data, a passenger car with minors sank for an unknown reason.
According to information circulated on social media, the family was relaxing by the water. The two girls, aged 9 and 12, entered the car to change clothes. At that moment, the car spontaneously moved and fell into the water.
After receiving the report, forces from the Emergency Situations Department of the Akmola region and the city of Astana immediately arrived at the scene. "During emergency rescue operations, rescuers pulled the car out of the water, and the bodies of two dead children were found in its cabin. The circumstances of the tragedy are being clarified," said the Emergency Situations Department of the Akmola region.
The regional police department is conducting an investigation.
