Two girls aged 8 and 12 drowned after their car rolled into a reservoir in the Akmola region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The tragedy occurred on July 11 near the village of Kyzylzhar in the Tselinograd district. According to preliminary data, the family was camping overnight at a local artificial reservoir.
In the morning after swimming, the sisters got into the car parked on the shore to change into dry clothes. At that moment, the car suddenly started moving, rolled down the slope, and ended up in the water, according to HALYQSTAN.
The girls' father rushed to help but could not open the car doors or break the windows. The car quickly sank, and the children could not be saved.
The exact reasons why the car started moving and all the circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about why children should not be left alone in a car even for a few minutes. KazAvtoZhol warned that at a temperature of about +25 degrees Celsius, the car interior heats up by another 10-15 degrees in 10 minutes, and after an hour the temperature inside can exceed +50 degrees. Additionally, an unsupervised child may accidentally lock the doors, press control buttons, become frightened, and be unable to get out on their own.
