In the Akmola region, reconstruction of five railway stations — Yerementau, Derzhavinskaya, Uleny, Erkinshilik and Zhaltyr — has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Vice Minister of Transport Zhanibek Taizhanov took part in the grand opening ceremony of the Yerementau station. In his speech, he noted that the reconstruction of the stations is being carried out on the instructions of the Head of State and is aimed at developing transport infrastructure, improving the quality of passenger services, and creating a comfortable, safe and accessible environment.
After reconstruction, the area of the Yerementau station building increased from 380 to 430.57 square meters. The 3rd class station serves an average of 225 passengers daily. 18 passenger trains pass through the station, providing connections with Astana, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Semey, Oskemen, Zhezkazgan, Kyzylorda, Turkestan and Mangystau.
It should be noted that at the Yerementau, Uleny and Erkinshilik stations, the old buildings were completely dismantled and new modern passenger complexes were built. At the Derzhavinskaya and Zhaltyr stations, reconstruction of the existing building was carried out.
At all facilities, water supply, sewerage, heat supply and power supply systems were updated, interior finishing works were completed, adjacent territories were landscaped, new furniture and modern technological equipment were installed. Durable and fire-safe materials of domestic production were used in construction. In accordance with fire safety requirements, additional evacuation exits are provided. To ensure accessibility of railway infrastructure, ramps for passengers with limited mobility have been equipped at the Uleny, Yerementau, Erkinshilik and Zhaltyr stations.
The railway station of Derzhavinskaya, built in 1960, after reconstruction is a modern one-story building with an area of 225.33 square meters. Six passenger trains pass through the station, providing connections with Astana, Kostanay and Arkalyk.
The Uleny station, put into operation in 1952, was reconstructed with an increase in area from 211 to 225.33 square meters. Eight passenger trains pass through the station, connecting the settlement with Astana, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Semey, Turkestan and Mangystau.
The Erkinshilik station, built in 1960, has also been completely renovated. The building area increased from 195.8 to 225.33 square meters. Ten passenger trains pass through the station, connecting it with Astana, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Semey, Turkestan and Shymkent.
At the Zhaltyr station, the building area was increased from 370 to 442.8 square meters. The one-story station, built in 1958, has been completely renovated using modern construction solutions and materials of domestic production. After reconstruction, the type 2 station fully meets modern requirements of safety, comfort and accessibility. Six passenger trains pass through the station daily, providing connections with Astana, Arkalyk and Atbasar.
